From Josh

Hey dad! So i had to renew my visa or some crap like that, so i have my p day today, and most of it was spent renewing my visa. It was kinda lame, but it was fun because i got to get out of the mtc for half a day, and i ate a street taco too! It was amazing, and spicy, but amazing.  Thank you for the letters and the donuts! And the pictures! It's really nice for me to hear about the family while i'm out here.

So I got a new mtc president! The last one finished his calling of 2 years, so we now have President Tenorio. He used to be a member of the Seventy! He gave a really good talk about the plan of salvation in general conference, you should look it up. Search for "Octaviano Tenorio" It's really good. He shared that talk with us, and he talked to us about himself, for us to get to know him better.  I'm starting to be grateful for the mtc, i've been here for 3 weeks now! I'm starting to realize how hard it's really going to be, once i leave and get into the field. I'm going to miss the mtc i'm sure of it hahaha.

Last tuesday's devotional, a man named President Valanzuela gave a good talk about eternal marriage and other stuff. I think his calling was in the...area presidency? Is that a thing? But yeah, it's one of the few times i didn't fall asleep during the devotional, which i'm personally proud of.  I feel like my spanish is getting better, although i also feel like i don't know enough spanish and it bothers me hahaha. I just want to speak fluently like right now! It's funny because in here, our teachers talk to us really slow so we can understand them. Once we got into further mexico city to renew our visas, everybody was talking super fast! I couldn't understand them!

Hey so get this, last friday me and my companions were walking back to our house from gym. When we were walking, i feel a raindrop on my head, right on the right temple area of my forehead. I look up, but there's no clouds...it was a sunny day! I saw a bird flying away from me.....and i check aaaaaaaaaaaaaaand it's poop....i totally got pooped on by a bird...it was hilarious and we all laughed the rest of the way to our house, then i washed up.

The rest of the time, i have been teaching my teachers as if they were investigators, and learning more spanish. Good stuff.

Message to Dad

Hey dad, i'll be waiting for your letter haha

So let's see what happened this week, last sunday we had our devotional like usual. Except our mtc president is leaving so he and his wife gave a talk. Then on tuesday, we all got to hear from M Russell Ballard which was really cool.  Today, i had the chance to go see the mexico city temple. I couldn't go in because they're renovating it, so i was bummed to hear that. I did get some cool pictures of it though, and i bought some souvenirs from a little gift shop next to the temple. We still got to go inside the visitors center, that was cool.  It was nice because everything was in english hahaha. And it had really cool architecture i guess, it looked nice.

So we have to do service every tuesday, right? Yesterday, we had to sweep all the dorms because the missionaries who lived in them left the mtc, and i found a soccer ball in one of the rooms! And a volleyball! They were really worn out, but it was still a nice find in my opinion.

The mtc is both fun and lame at the same time, i think.  I'm still pushing forward, and that's what matters.

It's great to hear from you dad

Weekly letter from Josh

DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!!!!!!!!! I made it!!!! I'm here!!! I'm a missionary! Hahahaha so i have a story to tell you! The second or third day i'm here, we were in gym time and my companionship and some other missionaries were playing basketball.....and i go for the rebound, i end up hitting my pinky on another elder. at first i thought i jammed it, but it felt....different than a jammed finger. I look down and....it's dislocated, it like folded on top of itself or something. The FIRST gym day, and that happens. well, great.....but i went to the infirmary and i got patched up, i got this brace thing that holds it in place. I wore that for like 4 days then i took it off and wrapped it to my ring finger with athletic tape that the doctor gave me. I'm healing well, i'm able to bend it halfway now, which is a good sign.

So the mtc here is actually, really nice! At least it looks nice, it's kinda spread out. Like the classrooms are in one part, the dorms are in another, the cafeteria in another part.  The weather here is awesome! Right now it's like 70 or 80 degrees. One bad thing though is the smog. The air tastes soooooo bad. And it turns out that we're actually at 7000 feet......and utah is like 4,500. It was so weird playing sports, we all ran out of breath really fast hahaha. Spanish is coming along....slowly but surely, it's hard of course, but that's the fun part right? I'm keeping busy with this missionary schedule. It's going to take some time getting used to 6:30 every single morning hahaha. We had a missionary devotional broadcasted to us from the Provo mtc, and Russel M Nelson talked, which of course was great.  So I'm actually in a trio companionship, and both of them are really cool, they have their faults, but I can't cast the first stone hahaha. There's missionaries from all around the world here! Most of them are from the states of course, but I actually met someone from australia! And i met a sister (hermana) from anchorage alaska! And another guy from Maryland. I actually met someone from American Fork, and someone else from Highland.

I'm going to give you a challenge, the first day i got here, i started the Book of Mormon. I challenge you to start it and see if you can keep up with me. I'm starting 2 Nephi tonight, but I'm not just reading it, i'm marking scriptures and stuff. Me and my companionship actually teach this fake investigator about the gospel, which is awesome. We have to say it in spanish, so it's.....hard hahaha.

Oh hey, so another elder told me about this website called "missionarypackagemx.com " where you can send me packages and they'll get here in a day or two. Which is nice because you can't send packages to the mtc here for whatever reason.  You can send like cookies and stuff.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand i think that's it for now, i hope i'm not forgetting anything hahaha. I don't know if i told you already, but I can only email on wednesdays, because that's my P day.

Keep me in your prayers, i'll need all the luck i can get

Love,
Elder Morrison

I went down to your room but you weren't there. Oh ya!!!!! You in Meheko.

Alex had the privilege of saying prayers last night and I told him we need to remember you in our prayers for the next 2 years. We got the first night of that taken care of.

Please remember Josh how much we love you and are thinking of you every minute of everyday. Keep that in the back of your mind and keep the Lord's work on the front of your mind.

Start and end every day with your head down and your knees bent.

Believe that the Lord will answer our prayers. ---> Mosiah 27:14.

Dad
